Welcome to Einhorn Manor, a place of wonder and history, and home
to Juliet (we lost Romeo April 1998), Lionel, Rusty, and Meisterin
Katarina Helene von Schönborn. This name pertains only
to my Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) life; mundanely, I am
simply Helen Schultz, a retired US Air Force captain and full-time
secretary (gotta make ends meet somehow) for the local Economic Development
Corporation.
For those who know not of the German language, "Einhorn" is the word for unicorn. Meisterin Katarina Helene is a 14th Century noble from what is now known as Germany (persona history). I call my home Einhorn Manor because I really like unicorns, and have somewhere upwards of 300+ of them throughout the house. Also, I have chosen a unicorn for the main charge on my SCA coat of arms (see below). In the SCA, I am a member of the Order of the Laurel (for Calligraphy & Illumination), which is the highest Arts & Sciences award our members can receive, as well as a member of the following other orders: Panache, des Linquistsrings, Principality Company of Sojourners, Burdened Tyger, Purple Fret, and Willow. The normal form of address for a Laurel is Master or Mistress, but we can also use the equivalent in whatever language we prefer. A person elevated to this Order is not only very knowledgeable of their chosen field, but they are also known to be courteous, chivalrous, and more than willing to pass on their knowledge. We often take on Apprentices and Students, the latter informally. I also like to play around with cooking and costuming. |
