GOOD FRIENDS CAMP
PENNSIC XXX

Pennsic as seen from the south, looking north.
I-79 runs north and south to the right of this picture.

Our camp was located about an inch in from the right side
on the main darkened road that runs horizonally at about
mid-point of the above picture.
There is a red and white tent top directly across from us.

During set-up... not many folks around.

The kitchen area shortly after set-up.

My new shade/dining fly
(with the VERY large superstucture).

My home-away-from-home during set-up week.

Mary pinning the hem in a new dress for me one morning.

Thomas being guarded by his three new
polar bears (a B-day gift from me) as he slept.

AElfwyn's home-away-from-home.

Hammarabi before sewing and skewering...
note those tonails... could it be that "he" was a "she? <snicker>"

Started those coals at 6am!!  Nice and hot by 8am.
You can see Thomas' wedge tent and Layli's pavilion
behind the firepit.

8:30am, and Hammarabi has begun his toasting.
Some say he was a dancer... note the twist...

Mid-day and Hammarabi is looking more and more toasted.

One last check of his temperature (we don't eat until he reaches 160°F)
-- and it is still daylight  (not accomplished often)!!

The "girls" snacking while Hammerabi toasts.

It threatened to be wet and windy at meal-time,
so we made the dining fly into a dining hall.

Dikron doing his usual efficient carving.

Just a bit closer view of the carving process.

After we have feasted, this is all that is left!!

Layli washing up, Dikron doing final carving, and
everyone else watching... it is always dark when
we do the cleaning up!!

David of Mildenhall was not in any of these pictures because he left site early to make
sure his grandchildren got to their new schools on time and correctly.

My new scribal desk from the front, mostly
based on plans for a Medieval desk from
Master RanthulfR's web site...

Scribal desk from the side... the side panels are removable.
Could the Laurel wreath mean something?? <grin>
